Surgical Procedures
Cataract is the clouding of the natural lens in the eye which causes reduction in vision. Microsurgery with the use of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implant is used to restore vision.
YAG laser
- Iridotomy for prophylaxis and treatment of episodes of acute angle closure glaucoma
- Capsulotomy to treat posterior capsular opacification which can develop following cataract surgery
Argon laser
- Laser retinopexy to treat retinal breaks
- Panretinal Photocoagulation (PRP) laser treatment for proliferative diabetic retinopathy
Use of anti-VEGF medication (Aflibercept / Eylea, Faricimab / Vabysmo) for the management of:
- Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration
- Diabetic macular oedema
